The club is sad to hear of the passing of former player Stuart Packard, who only turned 40 this year, on 30th October after a short battle with Mesothelioma, a form of lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestosis. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Stuart’s wife Julie, his 2 children Kian & Isla and the rest of his family at this time.

Stuart’s funeral will take place on Monday 23rd November at Chelmsford Crematorium, Writtle Road, Chelmsford, CM1 3BL at 2:30pm followed by a service at St May with St Leonard Church, Church Green, Broomfield, CM1 7BD at 3:15pm. After the service there will be a celebration of Stuart’s life at the British Legion, Saxon Way, Broomfield, CM1 7YA.

Family flowers only, donations to either Farleigh Hospice or Mesothelioma UK and donation boxes will be available on the day. Please feel free to wear rugby tops, rugby club ties or traditional Irish green if you wish.
