Rochford Hundred aiming to keep good run going

ROCHFORD Hundred will be aiming to extend their incredible unbeaten run when they host Tunbridge Wells in the London & SE Premier Division tomorrow.

Rochford have won 53 matches in succession and have not been beaten since April 2017.

But Hundred’s Aston Bevans-Royston is still hungry for more as Chris Green’s side look to secure a third promotion in succession.

“As a group I feel we’re improving week on week with some really tough tests every Saturday but we have to keep it going,” said Bevans-Royston.

“This week will be the same I imagine.

“I don’t know too much about them but our focus will be mainly on us.

“If we play to the standards we set ourselves, then we win and we win well, which is obviously what we’re aiming for.”

Rochford were promoted from London One North last season without losing a single match and have now taken that form into the higher level, winning their first five games of the new campaign.

Last time out, Hundred won 45-22 at Sidcup, but Bevans-Royston felt it had been a tough test.

“I was very impressed with how strong Sidcup were,” said Rochford’s summer signing.

“Their forwards gave us a real battle for 80 minutes and I thought their work at the breakdown especially was excellent.

“They caused us problems that we hadn’t really faced yet.

“So for us to come away from their place with the 53rd bonus point in a row was very pleasing but we have to keep it going.”

Rochford are currently second in the table, below Wimbledon who have also won all five of their matches so far this season.

But Hundred will be confident of making it six victories in a row as Tunbridge Wells head into Saturday’s clash at Magnolia Road sitting sixth in the standings with two defeats and three wins from their first five matches of the season.
