Not too much to say this week except that Rochford were given a lesson in try scoring ability by this highly skilled young Colchester outfit.
Eight converted tries by Colchester to one converted try by the visitors, scored by hooker Byron De Freitas, together with a penalty from Dan Needham was the difference.
Although Rochford started lively enough taking the game to the home side and forcing them into errors it was soon apparent that given the ball the North Essex team were going to be a handful.
So it proved with their extra pace and ball skills together with their lines of running and support play they gradually dismantled the Rochford defence.
With the score at 21-3 to the home side at half time Rochford were still in the game but Colchester went up a gear in the second session running in five converted tries and finished well deserved victors .
Rochford did have a period in the last twenty when they should have scored more points but were unable to convert pressure into points and Colchester just counterattacked at pace to open up slack defence.
Now a couple of weeks rest before Letchworth at home on 5th January.
A merry Christmas to all and hopefully a happy and successful new year.
