The home side scored three tries without reply in the first half playing down the slope and if their kicker had brought his boots along it would have been more.
Rochford were very lethargic during this period and when they had the chances to attack basic errors let them down.
Rochford should have had all the upper hand in the second half with the advantage of the slope and the low, bright sun behind them. It did not turn out that way even when Brentwood had a man yellow carded Brentwood still managed to kick a penalty goal and control the ball supply through set scrum and lineout.
In spite of some promising moves Rochford were unable to make any inroads apart from a Tom Ashton penalty kick and came off knowing that they just did not do themselves justice on the day.
A game well worth forgetting from a Rochford point of view and there is always Westcliff to look forward to next week.
