It could be argued that, once again, Rochford should have won by more points and with fewer mistakes but winning by this margin and scoring 11 tries to nil was still a job well done.
From the start Rochford dominated this match, especially up front where the forwards put in an awesome display of powerful rugby with Greg Whight, Ryan Stephenson, Scott Horsburgh and all the others putting in very good performances.
The front row of Michael Mark, Reece Levy and Ricky Wiseman and later Luke Irvine were all power and gave Lowestoft a torrid afternoon.
Wing Marcus Spremulli started the scoring spree almost from kick off to speed over and for Tom Ashton to add the extra 2 points.
Lowestoft reduced the deficit with a penalty before impressive Tom Pickering playing at scrum half broke through to score and Ashton converting the try.
Some fast flowing rugby by the visitors continued but further tries were thwarted by some good Lowestoft defence and also over-elaborate stuff by Rochford .Eventually pressure paid off and Ashton raced through to score another try to take the score line to 19 – 3.
Further tries by ever improving no.8 Scott Horsburgh and centre Matt.Stewart, both converted by Ashton followed but another penalty kick by the home team ended first half proceedings and the Essex boys turned round 33 – 6 up.
The second half continued in the same vain with Rochford forcing the pace and the Suffolk side showing plenty of spirit and grit trying to keep them at bay.
Although Rochford, on occasions ,did not finish as clinically as they should they did score 6 more tries by Pickering (2) Horsburgh,Stewart ,Stephenson and Stemp but with Ashton off injured only one try was converted.
Lowestoft to their credit never gave up the fight and made it difficult for the visitors to settle into a rhythm but even so a satisfying result after a long journey and the boys have now only one league match left at home to Enfield Ignatians next week.
