The start of a new rugby season and a new chapter in the boy’s rugby life as they move up from the Mini’s to Youth.
The game was well fought with Rochford taking an early lead with a couple of tries. Rochford showed spirit with many strong tackles, good scrummaging and handling skills making the most of the larger pitch having played on half pitches last season.
At half time Rochford had scored 8 tries without conceding any against Billericay. Billericay started the second half stronger, scoring 2 tries before Rochford fought back with a further 2 tries. Playing on a full-length pitch began to take its toll with tired legs allowing gaps to be exploited by both teams with another 2 tries scored by both teams in the closing 15 minutes.
The final score 12 tries to Rochford and 4 tries to Billericay. Man of the match and joker going to Luke Pindani and George Hill.
