The second match brought on a spirited Southend side for Rochford to face. Rochford attacked well in the first half with a good team effort pushing Southend’s defensive lines, from this Ben side stepped several players and had everyone holding their breath, with an extra shimmy he scored a great try for Rochford. Then Rochford increased the lead with another try from Milo, sprinting down the right hand side. Southend responded with a further 3 tries making the scoreline 2-3. Good passing from Ethan and Toby who made a darting sprint laid the pass to Finlay in the centre and with a short pass to Milo who gave us another quick try to level the score 3-3.
Southend pressed on with another 2 tries increasing their lead, but this was quickly cancelled out by Finley our Rochford player on loan from Burnham, who promptly scored a fourth try. Rochford again showed their great teamwork with Toby and Edward making some great passes and runs down the wing, with a quick sidestep and a run straight through a defensive line, Dalton popped up and placed the ball over the Southend try line. With the wind in their tails Southend again showed determination and scored a further 2 tries to bring the score to 5-7. The troops rallied in unison and responded with one final push and laid off the ball to Milo who scored his 3rd try,
Southend completed the game with a further try ending with a 6-8 scoreline.
