Rochford U7s vs. Barking, Westcliff Festival 11 April 2010

Having never played Barking this was an unknown for us but Milo kicked off the scoring with a try following a long run down the line. Basildon responded straight away through a Rochford defence that hadn’t quite yet got organised. Further tit for tat made this a quite an even half but with Rochford just edging it 3-2 at the half time whistle.

The second half saw Edward come on as substitute and this seemed to inspire the Rochford defensive line. Tags from all Rochford players and particularly Connor kept a persistent Barking at bay on numerous
occasions which enabled them to capitalise with tries from Milo and Dalton.

Barking managed a last gasp effort with a try just before the final whistle but this was not enough to prevent a great victory for Rochford 5-3. Great start boys!
