Rochford U7s vs. Braintree, Braintree Festival 18 April 2010

Right from the whistle they put immense pressure on Rochford and kept them pegged in their own half until finally over coming them and getting their first try. With the previous victory still in their minds Rochford made an excellent response with good support from everyone again before Ben finally scored Rochford’s only try of the game. At half time Rochford were only 2-1 one down which against this side is pretty good.

However, the second half brought further onslaughts from the Braintree side and the score began to slip away. There were some good battles in the centre ground but this wasn’t going to be Rochford’s match. Final score 5-1.

This was always going to be a difficult match and I actually think we did quite well. The thing that was most pleasing was that unlike last time we played this team, the boys kept their heads up right to the end. Good effort but hard luck.
