Rochford made a dodgy start with a forward pass that was punished with a try, closely followed by a knock on that also resulted in a try. However, two separate offside decisions saw us regaining possession and returning the favour with back to back tries for Milo and Toby following sustained pressure from Rochford. With the scores level at half time we had every chance. Fintan made the point that we must keep pushing forward to keep the opposition on the back foot.
The second half saw good play from both ends and further tries from Milo and Finlay but the score started slipping away. Ben got pulled up for fending off players using the ball which until that point had been a useful tactic for a small player, but not known as a misdemeanour. Anyway Ben quickly tried to make up for this with an excellent tag and so did Toby, but these were not enough to stop Eton Manor scoring again.
A further scorching individual effort from the opposition put the game beyond reach and Rochford thought they were going homeā¦
However, it turns out we did well enough to make the semi final to attempt to win the runner up position.
