Upminster vs. Rochford U7, 20 February 2011

Rochford opened the score line with all the team helping and Oliver scoring, storming past the upminster defence,1-0 Rochford. Upminster got a try back straight away. They then got the ball back in their possession
and scored again. They were looking good! They got the ball back again and scored using the same set piece they used in their first 2 try’s exposing Rochford’s defence! George did have a great try disallowed just before halftime. Upminster 3 Rochford 1.

After the break Rochford had another try disallowed before Upminster got another. Then Dylan played in George who set up Oliver who scored! The score by then was Upminster 4 Rochford 2. Upminster again used their set piece opening up our defence to finish the game Upminster 5 Rochford 2. Overall this game was a wake up call for Rochford in how to counteract a set piece but also a learning curve! We hadn’t come across a side as orthodoxed as Upminster before and considering we had 2 try’s disallowed by the ref, this was a pretty good start.
