Aylesford U15s v Rochford RaMS (Rochford, Medway & Saracens) U15s, 27th January 2013

Unfortunately Aylesford were not able to field a full team, having only nine players available, which was a little disappointing as the RaMS had a full team and a reserve. The decision was made to play the match 9-a-side.

The game began very evenly with much of the first ten minutes being strongly contested in the middle of the pitch. With only a 3 man scrum, Rochford were dominating winning their own put in’s and taking several against the head. However the speed of the opposition soon became clear as they broke through and scored.

The RaMS seemed a little rusty having not played since before Christmas and also a little unsettled by playing 9-a-side. Aylesford used this and their pace on the wings to their advantage as they increased their lead.

It was good to see that the RaMS heads did not drop, playing with determination they scored three tries and converted two of them and could have had more but it was not their day and in the end Aylesford deserved their victory. Well done both teams there was some excellent rugby played.
