Rochford RaMS (Rochford, Medway & Saracens) Girls U15’s vs. Aylesford, 3rd March 2013

The girls were up for the match following the previous match against Aylesford when they had not really done themselves justice.
Aylesford arrived with only eight players, as the RaMS had a full team of 13, it was agreed to lend them a couple of players to play ten aside.
The early exchanges appeared favourable with the RaMS taking the territorial advantage, unfortunately they did not manage to capitalise.

Early on Chuckie (Emily) was tackled hard and landed heavily on her shoulder, being in obvious pain she was quickly substituted.
The RaMS soon paid the price for not scoring when Aylesford’s incredibly quick winger made a break almost from her own 22 to run in and score.

The forward play, rucking and mauling from the RaMS had improved considerably since the previous fixture with the RaMS winning the majority, the scrummaging was also excellent with the RaMS winning most scrums and taking many against the head. The backs were passing well along the line as well with the ball regularly reaching the wing, unfortunately just when it appeared the breakthrough would come for the RaMS, Aylesford’s faster players got back to tackle.

late in the first half the scorer of the first try broke clear and the RaMS had no answer for her pace, and at half time the score was 0 – 10.
Early in the second half, the RaMS scored and with the score at 5 – 10 it appeared the tide was turning, but Aylesford’s dogged defence paid off and the RaMS were unable to get through, late in the second half Aylesford scored two further tries making it 5 – 20, the score perhaps flattered Aylseford a little and was not representative of the tough, hard fought and close game. Well done the RaMS and well done Aylesford.
