Braintree vs. Rochford U9s, 26 September 2010
Match Report by Lee (Louis’ Dad) Photos by Lau A dull dreary day greeted us all as we turned up at Braintree for our first game of the season. After a little warm up the team were ready to take the field and start the game.
The starting line up was Hayden, Dominic (Prop), Lawrence (Hooker), Louis (Captain and Scrum Half), Ricardo (Fly Half), Henry, Fraser (Centres), Tobius (Wing) and Blake (Full Back). Jamie was a sub.
Louis won the toss and we kicked off. Some good running to start with especially from Fraser saw us make an early assault on the Braintree line. Our final ball went astray allowing Braintree to counter attack with some good running ended in a try. Braintree then went over again due to a few missed tackles on our part!
Play went on until it was time for the first scrum. All went well and resulted in Louis running through to score our first try. Despite some good tackling from Tobius Braintree ran in another couple of try’s. Close to half time Hayden crashed over to score one back.
Jamie came on for Tobius in the second half which followed the same pattern as the first half. We ran the ball well but need to think about our passing. Fraser ran in a couple of try’s this half, but Braintree came out winners in the end.
