Rochford U9s vs. Burnham, 24 Octover 2010

Rochford has a brilliant start to this game when Ricardo weaved his way through the Burnham defence to score our first try from the kick off. Burnham then responded with a try of their own and the scene was set for a close match. Rochford started to put into practice what they had learned in training with direct running, maintaining positions and passing. It wasn’t long before Haidyn went over for Rochford’s second try. More tries followed when Blakey and then Henry touched down after some great passing and determination.

Rochford went in 4-1 at half time. Tobias came on for Dominic at the start of the second half. The rugby was end to end and Burnham appeared a lot more determined. Rochford’s defence held strong and continued to pressure Burnham. Lawrence was stopped just short of Burnham’s line and Ricardo had a try disallowed for a previous infringement. The Rochford pressure finally paid off when Haidyn went over for his second and Rochford’s fifth and final try.
