Brentwood vs Rochford U8s, 22 November 2009
Match report by Julie Blythe and Steve King The last match of the day and the boys all wanted to play for each other, a great testament for such young players.
The presence of our second debut match player Kian was felt in this match, he showed us his speed and agility. Even scores at half time 2-2 Try’s from Fraser Childs (*2)
During the Second half Rochford had returned to form with try after try from Fraser (*2) Ricardo Warner, Jamie (*2) and Mason and Henry. One highlight was the defending which added up to 7 tags and finished with turnover ball on our own try line, One quick break and Henry was off, the length of the pitch, two hands on the ball and he was over the try line, surely the winner? With the referee signalling for full time the boys regrouped and were praised by Jerry, the Under 8s coach for Brentwood for their work rate, sportsmanship and Ethos.
The boys not only made themselves proud, but were also great ambassadors for the game we love and also Rochford Hundred.
