Match Report by Chris & Jane Berry

Rochford started slowly, and with only 6 players, and were soon 2 tries down. Tags were being missed, and the recurring problem of running over the touchline gave turnover ball back to Thurrock. Rochford pulled a try back through a good run into space from Chris H, but quickly conceded another couple after some more missed tags. Just before half time, Chris H got another try after good work from Josh.
In the second half, the players were really feeling the cold, so 3 guests from the other visiting side, Medway, helped us out. Despite some good runs from them and the rest of the team, a couple of ball spillages meant that there were no further tries from Rochford. The Rochford tagging did improve though, and with only one try conceded, the final score was 5-2 to Thurrock.
After this game, the cold driving rain returned, and both Thurrock and Medway felt that it was best to retire to the warmth of the clubhouse rather than continue.
