The first game saw some excellent tagging, forcing two quick turnovers on the 7 tag rule, and on getting the ball, we made good use of it, with good running and support leading to 2 tries. Rochford dominated the rest of the game, playing some excellent running rugby, and would have scored more tries but for running too far over the dead ball line. However, some poor cover when Stanford had the ball allowed them sufficient space to score some tries, so the final score was 5-3 to Rochford. Tries from Josh (2), Thomas, Corey and Chris H.
The second game was similar. Good tagging forcing turnovers, and good running and support, but this time let down by some offsides giving the ball back, and pushing one of the Stanford players into touch resulting in a penalty try to them. Final score was 4-2, with tries from Josh, Chris H (2) and Fraser.
We definitely need to brush up on staying onside, and leaving fewer gaps when defending, at next training.
