Thurrock vs. Rochford Under 8s, 2 October 2011
Thurrock had a good start and put on a strong attack, but with some great tagging by Harry, James, George and Sam and the team holding their defensive line they were held off.
The ball was turned over after a run out, however it was short lived and Thurrock gained possession and ran around our line to score.
We were on the attack and a brilliant run by George scored our first. Our second came from Dylan with some strong passing from Joe Dowler, Liam and Sam. Thurrock responded with strong attacks scoring a further 2 tries. With Liam’s guidance as captain the team stood strong and at half time had held the opposition to 3 tries.
Powering through Luke opened the 2nd half with a great try, followed by George to score our 4th and Liam getting the 5th. Thurrock’s defence halted Joe Maxwell’s bid for another try and then Rochford held a strong line to stop the attack. Then came an excellent long pass from Liam, Luke advanced up the field at a terrific pace, great support by Dylan who scored the 6th sealing the game.
