Southend has a few stocky boys in their team but this did not worry our mighty boys who have got a great team spirit that just seems to improve every time they play a match.

Oliver opened the score line with a signature solo effort, 1-0. Some superb tagging followed from Luke, Spikey, Jake and the boys, as they pushed Southend back and eventually forced a turn-over ball.

Stubbs then made a surging run and covered a lot of ground before he was tagged, but that wasn’t before he laid a sweet ball on to Jake, who scored a sublime try. 2-0 Roch!

More superb tagging followed from Spikey and the Best again, pushing Southend back and eventually they used all their 7 tags.

This wasn’t the only time the 7 tag rule was applied to Southend.
(Tagging another team 7 times has never happened to Rochford before and tagging out Southend, who are a brilliant team, twice in one half was a miracle. Our boys were all over them like a rash!)

Southend were rocked and Rochford had the ball in their possession. Oliver laid on Speedy who ran the length of the pitch and scored a majestic Speedy solo effort, 3-0.

As Southend fought a losing battle, the ball was soon back in our possession. Luke laid on Jake, who managed a smashing solo effort, darting his way through Southend’s defence and the half ended, 4-0 Rochford.

After the break, Southend scored a try, 4-1. But in answer, we then saw Rochford play some royal rugby with all the team connected and linking-up well, eventually laying on Spikey who made a cool try, 5-1. Oliver show-boated a bit and scored 2 tries back-to-back and the game finished a staggering 7-1 and Oliver got a hat trick - well done!

Overall, the boys just need more experience. Many thanks to Gary, Russell, Pete and Neil. Thanks to all who came to support our boys and also many thanks to Bernie Rignall who sorted out the food and flew the flag for Rochford with a lovely little pasta dish!

Super Bulldog!
P.S not forgetting Super Jake winning the biggest game of bulldog ever! He must have felt pretty good!
