A sunny day again, the ground was hard, but from the opening whistle the girls ran hard and fast. Abi Graham opened the scoring with the first try, which was converted by Maddie. The pack played a storming game and were totally dominate in the scrums. The second try was scored by Lia after some lovelly interplay and off loading in the tackles made by some determined defending by the Thurrock chicks. Yaz at scrum half was dynamite with some fantastic breaks from the base of the scrum and some deft kicks into space, this resulted in a second try for Abi. Yaz again made a run down the right wing with a perfect off load to the ever supporting Clare on her right shoulder who scored under the posts. The score at half time was 50-0, so it was agreed to play the second half with uncontested scrums.
The Thurrock Chicks kept up the tempo and after some great runs manged to cross the Rochford line for a try. The game was played in a great spirit by both sides, and as most are team mates in the Essex County team that was great. Thank you to Thurrock for the hospitallity.
