Although Southend opened the score-line, it didn’t last long. Rochford were soon back on level terms after a cracking solo effort from George that came about after Stubbs and Speedy linked-up well, laying him on to score a magnificent try. Nice one George!
1-1
Toby was looking good as he made his debut appearance for Rochford and was soon getting noticed, stamping his mark on the A-Team with some clinical passing to Dynamo, Stubbs and Tank.
Oliver soon got his chance to get on the score sheet after being laid on with a lovely little combination that came from Speedy and Liam. Ollie broke through Southend’s weak defence and scored a signature Ollie try 2-1 Roch! Southend did come back at us and we gave them a consolation try, 2-2, and the half ended.
Half Time
Gary did not change his team during the break and this worked well in his favour. Although, Southend took the lead it would be the last time in the game they were ahead.
It was not long before Toby was flexing his leg muscles and using his strength, pushing Southend back deep into their own half. Whilst being tagged, he still managed to lay George on with a cheeky little lay-off and The Best smashed it home to level the score.
The whole team looked good in the second-half showing great consistency which helped with their formation and their dedication shined through.
All the boys played a big part in the next try, with some sublime passing and eventually, George laid-on Ollie, who used his pace to tuck one home. The game ended 4-3 Rochford. A fantastic result for Gary and his sturdy boys.
