Woodford vs. Rochford U8s, 27th November 2011

Woodford replied 2-1 and then got another 3-1. Despite Speedy's majestic solo effort, we were getting done over. Roch had to score before half-time. Toby came on and replaced Alex. Alex had a good game and made some vital tags - well done Alex!

It was now Fen’s turn to show his skill as he passed to Toby. Toby made up a lot of ground before dispatching the ball to Jake, who smashed it home (super try Jake) and the half ended 3-2.

Half Time

After the break, Oliver replaced Joe (Joe is showing great consistency, both passing and defending. Good game Joe!) Woodford scored 4-2 and Roch looked like they were in trouble; we had to get one back. Toby stepped up and passed to Ollie, who sent it on to Sparky. Sparky made a clinical pass to George and he smashed one home, 4-3. We were back in the game!

Woodford replied 5-3. If the boys weren’t careful we could lose this match. It was the last five minutes of the game and we were 5-3 down. After Gary had a word with his team, the boys were fired up. Toby, Fen, Speedy and all the boys helped set-up Oliver who scored 3 tries back-to-back and the game finished 6-5. Another win for Gary and his boys!
