Rochford came away from this game with only a losing bonus point but knowing they should have had a great deal more.
This was the first match where Rochford had not scored a point for over a season but it was not from the lack of trying but a lack of finishing.
In a dour struggle between two evenly matched sides where both sides had their chances but it was Norwich that scored the important try right in the final seconds of the first half.
Rochford then spent virtually the whole of the second session anchored in the Norwich half but as much as they tried Rochford could not break down the home team’s good defence and when they did a lack of cohesion, handling errors and other incorrect options, together with an absence of finishing power let them down.
These are problems that could and should be sorted out on the training pitch.
Some good individual efforts from a number of players but from a team performance view it left a lot to be desired.
Enough said.
