Winning run halts at Thurrock for the Rams !

Well as expected we faced a very good Thurrock side after our last encounter. We arrived with a side of forwards due to injuries in the backs but started very well. Prosser showing his opposite number who was the boss early on taking his ball from the base of their scrum. After ten minutes of Rams forward pressure Wally made a break through to score a try but was illegally stopped. We was given the penalty under the posts. A rush of blood saw us take a quick tap and go but we failed to score with Thurrock defending for all they were worth.
After some to-ing and fro-ing the pack again worked hard with Nic Brownlee going over in the corner for the first score. Rams 5 - Thurrock 0.
Rus C took a big bang on the head causing lots of blood, on went the medical team and patched him up... well done Karis.
Thurrock started to adopt some hard tactics to try and win the forward battle but were not successful. With the team playing to our strengths we were holding on until Thurrock intercepted a pass from Kev H and ran through to score under the posts. John Davies left the field with a pulled hamstring, I hear you say, "What at his age ?" Well, yes it was a Hamstring ! The half finished 7 to 5 in Thurrocks favour.
The second half saw us take another injury and Gary G stepped up and went onto the wing. We now had twelve forwards and three backs on the park. The guys worked hard and kept Thurrock at bay until the last 10 minutes. We then lost one against the head in our twenty-two and Thurrock ran in a try in the corner. Thurrocks able backs made the age difference pay and ran in the final try of the game, (after a knock on).
Man of the match with some great try saving tackles all the way through the game is Kev Hughes. Special mention to the flying Gary the wing Grace !
