A valiant effort !

A bare fifteen went to battle against a well drilled and well trained 2nd Team who were big and powerful in all areas. The game started at a fast pace and two early tries against us had us on back foot, but with our heads held high we dug in and fought back. Reward came for our valiant efforts as new boy Richardson won excellent ball in the lineout, Hill was making in-roads with the assistance of Hughes and Ashton with his boot.
The pack went back to there normal business of making sure good ball got to the backs and we drove forward from quick tap penalties from Bedford and George who eventually scored our first try under the posts, dutifully converted by Ashton. A few small errors and missed tackles allowed the opposition to score a few tries .
At no time did our heads or pride go down as we fought and pushed them all the way and again at the last minute a penalty seven metres out and a quick thinking Bedford saw us score under the posts and converted from Ashton.
The final whistle saw everyone dead on there feet and still with heads head high left the pitch losing the game, but had we played a team of our level would have definitely won.
Thanks to all the players that turned up and gave it there all, it would be easy to say man of the match was any of many but it goes to Andy George.
