After winning the toss and using all the advantages Rochford started slow but were solid in all aspects, with Isaacs back in the fold after travelling the world, we were able to use his boot to set up two penalties to lead 6-0. Just after we conceded a weak try which put us on the back foot for a minute or 2.
After the restart, a good break from Booker saw him tackled a metre short of the line and taking a blow to the head, which shortly after forced him to leave the field.
An awesome display of tackling from the backs was kept us in the game, while the power of the forwards saw us nearly score from just on halftime.
An injury to George brought Harbrow on who combined with Grace to inspire the forwards to move the ball on. A short run and Harbrow powered himself over for a great try. A short while later, due to the awesome power of the pack Ilford conceded a penalty try, Ilford unable to cope with the Rochford pack.
The other George brother (Richard) completed the try scoring.
Leading 26-24 into the last few seconds, looking to close the game out, a Rochford fumble lead to Ilfords best player collecting the ball and charging over to win the game !
Great effort from everyone again Man of the Match goes to Mark Pickering as his relentless tackling and great running deserved it.
