With a slight delay as East London arrived a bit late, the game started with great gusto as the opponents were big and mobile . . .

Match report by Kev Anderson.

It was a great start for Rochford as we held our own in the scrums and lineout's. East London came fired up and tried their best at running the ball as often as possible. Rochford started in solid defence with big tackles coming in from Bedford, at full back and Morgan who undoubtedly stopped a few tries through their tackling.
Kerr showed some pace from second row as he too joined in the tackling and general play, taking great ball in the lineout.
Haynes pinched a few scrums against the head and we were using this to our best as we made ground all the way to the try line only to make a small error and losing ground as the big No.8(American footballer?) drove it forward breaking tackles left right and centre.
The backs were using good ball given to them from a solid performance from the scrums but were constantly halted by a very quick defence from EL.
In the second half we carried on the fight and determination from the first half as Brownlee and Kerr continued to take excellent lineout ball and with O'Connor trying to break the line we continue to move forward to get on the scoreboard. Reid, who had come on at half time was playing a great game winning ruck balls and driving the ball forward.
But it was East London who made good use of some poor tackling, allowing their electric wingers pace to outstrip the defence and almost scoring at will.
Coming into the last 5 minutes Rochford were down 56-0, but to prove the valiant effort, charged forward to ten meters out where a penalty was awarded, Prosser took a quick tap, passing to Anderson who drove forward to two meters out, with the recycled ball Prosser popped the ball to O'Connor who powered over for a well deserved try.
Although the score was 56-5 the complements from East London after the game showed that this was a great performance, the one winger scored five tries with his amazing pace and the other scored three, their fly half had a great day with the boot and got the rest. This shows that they were able to only score on wide balls and used their pace to out do our wingers who seemed to have no answers for this. This East London second team deserves to be undefeated and we will get some good results if we can keep this up, well done everyone
