Pride right throught the game keeps a great game going for 80mins

Well a tough game ahead against the league leaders was our prize this week and with so many people unavailable due to injury or other commitments it wasn’t going to be an easy task. This was made even harder when our young players were a no show and we sat with 13 , but we were able to get the services of Ambrose who was eager for a full game and on the way to East London a call to Dukelow saw him turn up ,

On arrival a reshuffle of position saw us start the game with some real venom and we showed we were up for the game. An error from us cost the first try and a second was scored quickly after that. This inspired us and saw some great breaks from O’Connor and Brownlee saw us progress forward, aided by the powerful boot of Isaacs. From just inside the 10mtre A George had an awesome break which saw him make it all the way to 5mtres short of the line and with defense from Williams and Anderson and with Dickson coming in at pace taking the ball with him and scoring a great try.
In the mean time our opponents decide to try score many tries but were faulted many times by some awesome defense from R George and Brownlee saving the day. An unfortunate injury to A George saw him having to leave the field and Maugham was struggling with a hamstring and he too had to leave the field. We received a player from East London. They were scoring tries but only off Rochford’s mistakes as we took control of ruck and mauls. Trusson was in the thick of everything with Williams and Ambrose and Brownlee .We spent a good few minutes driving to their line only to see the ball come lose and they run the length of the pitch to score. This only made us come back at them harder and from some great driving from all the forwards and Beale joining in on occasion saw I get a penalty just 5mtre out and some quick thinking from Bolden saw him dive over and score our second try.

We kept up the pressure and continued to pressure them with some breaks from O’Connor and Dukelow with back-up from Finch and Brownlee, saw us drive up to the line and with a massive final push Anderson took the ball on and drove over the line only to have the loosened as he went down and knocked on (still think I scored ha-ha)
The game came to an end with a team that can truly say they came off the field with putting in 100% and fighting to the end, credit to all that played and it was hard to pick a man of the match as it was definitely a 15 man game but I felt it was down to 2 this weekend that was to R George for his ferocious tackling and running and Dukelow for a last minute call-up and having an absolute all around blinding game it goes to Dukelow
Well Done
