Looking to get a game after the Christmas, the boys were all keen for a game having not played for several weeks and in the hope of making more of a game of it the Clacton side was boosted by a few U17s. Rochford caught the kick and looked to put Clacton under pressure, before Ben Williamson ran through from about 12 yards out to open the scoring, Matthew Barnes converting C0-R7. It only took a couple more minutes before Musa Yusuff got his first of the day, followed three minutes later by a Hayden Smith try, from a close in penalty for going in at the side, Matthew converting the later attempt C0-R19. Rochford kept up the pressure and when Sean Prior got the ball on the wing, he ran forward before kicking down the win. He was beaten to the ball by a defender, but still managed to charge down the kick, the ball falling favourably for Perry Livingstone to score with 25 minutes gone C0-R19. Dominic McDonald was next to score, with the referee playing advantage for a close in penalty, the ball was passed back to Dominic, who ran from the middle through the static players on both sides out to the wing, before scoring under the posts C0-R33. Clark Pickering received the ball in his own half sprinting and weaving past tackles to increase the scoring C0-R38. The last play of the first half saw Perry Livingstone again make the try line but was this time held up.
Rochford made several changes for the second half, putting on all the subs, who had not started, and after about 5 minutes, Hayden Smith got his second out on the wing C0-R43. Ben Nock then received the ball on the wing and made some useful ground cutting inside, for Mitchell Bennett to score when receiving a pass from the resultant ruck C0-R50. Clacton did their best to not let their heads drop, encouraging each other to a consolation try and Rochford in part lost their shape, looking to score themselves rather than passing to someone in space. Clacton had however not seen the last of Musa Yusuff, who after 50 minutes scored from a messy line-out, and then caught the ball from the kick-off and ran it back to score his third. With the game getting steadily more scrappy, and the boys cold and tired, neither team seemed upset, when the referee called time a couple of minutes later, the game ending Clacton 0-Rochford 62.
