Rochford started poorly but against the run of play Adam H sold a good dummy and passed to Adam B and he stormed through the Barking defences - first blood to Rochford. Barking pushed back hard and were awarded a penalty for some minor Rochford infringement.
As is oft the case, Rochford were caught napping and a quick take saw Barking go through to level the score. 1-1 then at the end of the first half.
Barking kicked off the second half and despite the ball not travelling more than a few yards, and the Barking side catching it, the ref decided not to award Rochford a scrum or retake. However, justice was served when Rochford got turnover ball and Oli B then ran the length of the pitch to put Rochford ahead. The remainder of the half was played inside the Barking 22 (or whatever the equivalent is on these small pitches) and when Big Lew nipped around the blind side of a scrum 5 for try number three, it was all over for Barking. Final whistle, 3-1 to Rochford.
Time for a spot of lunch and a long awaited loo break.
