Westcliff A, had also already beaten them in an earlier match, so based on the previous games we were in with a shout. This wasn’t the case though as Medway moved the ball around and almost broke away but was stopped by Ewan Hardie. They then went on from there and scored an easy try due to our poor defence. However, Michael Shields was almost over but was taken out by a clearly high tackle that was again ignored by the referee.
Medway got their second try after a neat interception when Rochford were coming back at them. This closed the half leaving Rochford with it all to do.
The second half and Medway effectively closed the game out after a long kick by Medway and some excellent chasing saw them score their third try.
Rochford carried on competing and after what seemed like endless scrums Tom Child got us a token score.
This meant an early and disappointing finish to the morning. Although the final outcome from today may have ended up with the same result and not usually being too critical of referee’s (unless I am making sport with Rob). It has to be said, this guy was so random with his decisions I was left very confused as to which game he was presiding over.
