Brentwood vs. Rochford U11, 20 February 2011

In the 2nd game against Brentwood,we got off to a flyer with Ryan going over from a good run. The game then became a bit scrappy, probably due to the boys getting a bit tired from back to back games and the heavy muddy condition. However we kept Brentwood at bay and from a scrum just inside our half Ben J feed the ball to Lewis who went on a mazy (James esq) run breaking through several tackles, he almost got to the try line before being stopped, but yet again the support was right behind and Regan picked up the ball to dive over to make it 10-0.

We made several changes at half time and as a result our tackling and defence went to sleep and let Brentwood in for 2 quick tries, squaring the game up at 10-10. After some encouragement from the sidelines we picked up, got back to tackling well, driving over at the breakdown and pushing Brentwood back off the ball. Again from an impressive forwards drive Sarah Jane emerged from the middle of “somewhere” and went in to make it 15-10. We held on to the final whistle to make it played 2 WON 2.

We all saw what it meant to the team from their reaction after the Upminster game!!!!!!!!! Fantastic. Also thanks again to all parents to they encouragement and support.
