With thirty minutes of rugby already under their belts it should have been a struggle for the boys to raise their game for the second match. However, the boys had other ideas.
Again attacking up hill for the first half the Rochford defence was again solid and although Wanstead were pressing hard they didn’t really look like bothering the Rochford line. One such attack, mid way into the Rochford half saw the ball reach Nicholas Campen at Full Back only for him to break through a gap in the Wanstead line and out sprint the defenders to touch down for a 5-0 half time lead.
The second half continued in much the same manner with a tiring Wanstead now battling up the slope to little effect. Again a quick pass out wide to Cullum saw him sprint clear and touch down to make the final score 10-0 to Rochford.
All the boys performed excellently and looked far from rusty. Our thanks must also go to Matthew and Harrison from Wanstead for some great rugby. Well done to all the lads.
A little more concentration on a Saturday from now on will see real benefits in matches. Bring on South Woodham Ferrers.
