Good tackling and mauling, and some surging runs, really kept the pressure on Westcliff, and eventually from a series of phases, Corey slipped through a gap and dived over the line to put Rochford ahead.
The pressure was kept up for most of the first half, spending most of it within yards of the opposition try line, but we could not quite get the touch down. Then a break from Westcliff took them into Rochford's half, and good rucking and recycling saw a touchdown in the corner, so the teams were level at half time.
The second half was a middle of the pitch affair, with almost all of the play in that area. Unfortunately, a couple of defensive lapses from Rochford allowed Westcliff to break out and score two more tries, leaving Rochford the losers, despite having had the best of the game.
