Rochford U9s vs. Basildon, 24 October 2010

In order to enable Basildon to take part in this three team mini tournament, and with true rugby sportsmanship, Rochford’s Dominic, Jamie, Lawrence and Tobias volunteered to play for Basildon in their game against Burnham and now found themselves playing for Basildon against their Rochford team mates. This indeed made the match a lot closer and more entertaining (or nail biting).

The game was fiercely contested with both sides tackling, passing and defending well. Rochford went in 1- 0 at half time with a try scored by a guest player from Burnham. At the start of the second half Rochford’s Frazer, after a long run around the Basildon flanks, went over for a try to make it 2-0 to Rochford. The match was level at 2-2 going into the last minutes of the game when Frazer again went over to secure another Rochford win.
